Mica
Capacitors
Arco
has set the industry standard for dipped silvered mica and is
now the most widely used mica capacitor in the world. New levels
of reliability, ruggedness, and electrical excellence have been
attained in the design of the product. The distinct improvements
in performance afforded by Arco capacitors have resulted in
their wholesale adoption and used by the electronics industry
for both military and commercial applications. All Arco dipped
micas not only meet but far exceed the latest revision of MIL-C-5.
The
ARCO UC Capacitor utilizes the highest quality natural mica,
and has electrodes made by a printing with a proprietary silver
paste. The element, therefore, becomes a structure entirely
from the conventional section which uses metal foils. The finished
element maintains the excellent characteristics of natural mica.
This design assures constant high reliability and reproducible
accuracy.
These
variable compression mica trimming capacitors are produced by
stacking mica dielectric capacitance units. A capacitor section
consists of a thin film of mica between two spring loaded nonferrous
metal conducting plates: the stacked units are mounted within
a ceramic container, or on a ceramic base. By alternating metal
plate, mica film, metal plate, ect., and paralleling these units,
any desired capacitance within the physical limitations of the
ceramic base can be achieved.
These
capacitors, designed for higher frequency applications where
lead inductance is critical, are available for operation at
temperatures up to 400°C. Their compact design is ideally suited
for PC insertion, today's state of the art technology and special
mounting requirements.
