ARCO has
developed this series of high voltage surface mount ceramic chip capacitors
specifically for circuits requiring higher working voltage ratings. The
product line consists of six EIA standard SMT chip sizes. Capacitance
selection includes standard RETMA values of up to .018 in stable NPO dielectric.
These chips are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed the requirements
of Mil-C-55861 making them well suited for use in commercial, industrial,
and telecommunications equipment. Applications include filtering, surge
protection, noise suppression, power supplies, and voltage multiplier
circuits.
Dialectic
strength is equal to 1.5 times rated voltage (WVDC) for 500 volt capacitors
and 1.2 times WVDC for 1000 through 5000 volt capacitors. Circuit applications
in excess of 1000 volts may require a surface coating to prevent external
arcing.
